You ever have one of those days where nothing seems to go quite right? That was me today.
It started with excitement. My new order of puzzle sublimation blanks arrived! I couldn’t wait to dive in. But the moment I opened the box, my heart sank. The chemical smell was overwhelming, the sublimation surface was off-centered on some, and I could see right away the quality had dropped. These aren’t going anywhere near my shop. My standards are too high to send anything less than my best, and these just weren’t it.
As if that wasn’t enough, my designs today didn’t want to cooperate either. They wouldn’t fit my bookmarks. They wouldn’t fit my lip gloss holder keychains. It was like the creative universe was waving a white flag for me.
So I decided to wave one back.
Sometimes, the smartest and healthiest thing you can do is just call it a day. Walk away. Breathe. Regroup. The work will still be there Monday — but your sanity will thank you for the early clock-out.
Right now, I’m out on the gazebo with my German Shepherd, sipping a glass of wine, and letting the week fade out with the sunset.
Here’s to listening to those inner nudges that say, "Enough for today." Here’s to knowing that rest is just as important as hustle.
Happy weekend, friends.
