Fall Favorite Recipe: Chicken with Apples, Onions & Sweet Potatoes

Image
This is one of my favorite recipes.  Super easy. You need: 6-8 chicken pieces (I usually use legs or thighs) 3 diced up apples (pretty large dice) 1 or 2 chopped up onions 1 lrg sweet potato, chopped 1/2 c. chicken broth brown sugar salt (I like to use Lawry's salt for this) tablespoon olive oil Toss chopped apples, onions & sweet potato with olive oil, salt and brown sugar to coat mixture. Line chicken pieces in baking dish and season (I usually use Lawry's salt). Spoon apple/potato mixture around chicken pieces and then pour chicken broth over. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake at 375 for 1 hour to 1 hour 10 minutes. I usually serve with rice. This picture is from right before I covered it to put in the oven. It's a really yummy Fall dish:)

Cardboard Box Haunted House Craft using Elmer's CraftBond

Image
As a BzzAgent , I was lucky enough to be chosen to participate, in the Elmer's Crafters BzzCampaign! Truly a crafters dream come true! I was so excited when my Bzz Kit finally arrived, with these goodies to try... Brayden and I decided to make a Haunted House from a card board box and craft foam. To assemble our haunted house, we used, Elmer's CraftBond Glue Spots, Elmer's Tape Runner and Elmer's CraftBond All Purpose Glue Stick. All the CraftBond products were very easy and enjoyable to work with. We had a blast!!! We are not done yet but here are some pictures....

Meet Grayson!

Image
Welcome Grayson! Grayson has been our newest family member for the past 5 weeks now. I can't believe how fast he is growing. Tahoe (our other GSD) is finally getting used to him and they are actually playing together now. Grayson has definitely been keeping me busy this summer but Fall is coming and I am looking forward to sharing lots of new things:)

Summer Craft Projects

Image
It's been a while since I have posted. With summer here, I have been spending a lot of time out at the pool and also working on some projects with Brayden. Here are some of the things that we have been working on. First, Brayden is growing green beans & radishes. He is so proud of his gardening:) He also created these Abstract Super-hero spin arts. He painted the frames and I mounted his art work for him. These will hang very nicely in his Super-hero themed bedroom:) Finally, we have been working on this project together. It is a barn made out of Popsicle sticks! We have had a blast making this barn up as we go along. I'll be sure to post pictures again when it is completed!

Wai Lana's Little Yogis

Image
My 4 year old son, Brayden, loves to work out with me. Recently, I have been using my stability ball again (it's been kind of sitting in the back of my closet for a while) and Brayden is just fascinated by that big bouncing ball. Unfortunately my stability ball is way to big for Brayden to safely play with  and so I had a thought "Wouldn't it be great if they made stability balls for young children.".....So, I began my search and I found one!!! Now Brayden and I work out on our stability balls together everyday. I put together a child friendly work-out based on the exercise poster that comes with the ball. The ball I found is Wai Lana's Little Yogis: Stretch and Play Eco Ball Kit. It is the perfect size for my son, the ball is very sturdy and is really cute. Here is my little guy playing on his Eco ball.

Sock Monkey Diaper Cake

Image
I have been noticing quite a bit of interest in my Sock Monkey Diaper Cake lately. I am happy to report that this diaper cake has found a happy home in Texas. Have no fear though....if you are looking for a Sock Monkey Diaper Cake, I can create one for you. Also, I will be adding more to my Bonanzle Booth in the future. Thanks for the interest! Have a great weekend! Lynn

Shirt Pillows (Sunday craft)

Image
This was our Sunday, spur of the moment craft:) I was going through my son's clothing, so that I could weed out all the things he has out grown. I came across 2 pajama tops that no longer fit but that he doesn't want to part with. So, I made them into cute little accent pillows for his already Spiderman themed bed room.

Four Years of Diaper Cakes

Image
As I was lying in bed last night, going over the days events, it dawned on me that this March BraySam Lane (my diaper cake business) will be celebrating 4 years in business. Wow! I can't believe it.....and how far we have come:) I started BraySam Lane back in March 2006, only a couple months after the birth of my son, Brayden. Back then we were known as Fake n Fancy Diaper Cakes. In 2008, we switched our name to BraySam Lane because I wanted a more personal name...Bray for Brayden and Sam for my niece Samantha. Our business started out as a sisters venture. It was my sister and I originally but my sister being a full time high school teacher, didn't have the time to devote to the business as I did. And so, BraySam Lane has pretty much become my baby. BraySam Lane has grown in the past 4 years and I am looking forward to even more growth. What first started out as just diaper cakes, is now blossoming into custom blankets, burp cloths, wash cloths, the occasional sock monkey and
