If you've ever brought home a kitten, you know most have one speed…play!
Our newest family member, Jett, is full of energy. He loves to wrestle, pounce, kick, stalk, and spar. But, my two adult cats have completely outgrown that style of play. They'd much rather nap in a sunny window than spend twenty minutes rolling around with an energetic kitten.
I wanted to find something that would let Jett burn off some of that kitten energy without teaching him that my hands and arms are toys.
After searching around, I decided to try a cat wrestling puppet.
The quality is excellent!
The glove has multiple protective layers, and the long 22-inch length gives plenty of distance between my hand and Jett's enthusiastic bunny kicks. The stitching feels sturdy, and it doesn't feel like a cheap novelty toy.

Jett absolutely loves it!
He immediately grabbed, kicked, wrestled, and chased the raccoon puppet exactly the way kittens naturally want to play. Best of all, he's focusing that roughhousing on the toy, not my other cats, and not my arm.
That's a huge win.
The Surprise Bonus
I actually bought this just for Jett.
But, my two adult cats had other ideas.
The scent of catnip instantly caught their attention. While Jett was busy wrestling the puppet, the older cats were happily sniffing, rubbing, and enjoying the catnip.
Instead of one cat toy entertaining one cat, it ended up engaging all three of them in different ways.
Why I Think This Works
Kittens have a strong instinct to wrestle and practice hunting behaviors. If they don't have an appropriate outlet, they often turn our hands, feet, or ankles into their favorite "toy."
A wrestling puppet gives them a safe, interactive way to burn energy while helping reinforce that human body parts aren't for biting or kicking.
It's also a fun way to spend a few minutes together, especially if your older cats aren't interested in keeping up with a kitten's energy level.
